Primary Burner Types

There are 3 primary types of burners used on Rapid / Bananza air handlers throughout the years.

Maxon NP Burner – Used primarily from 1970 to 2004 - Download Drill Bit Diagram

Maxon NPLE Burner – Used primarily from 2004 to 2016 - Download Drill Bit Diagram

Midco HMA2 Burner – Used primarily from 2016 to present - Download Drill Bit Diagram

To help identify which burner is installed, please reference the pictures. Note that the burner casting can be aluminum or steel and have either one or two rows of orifices. Use the pdf drawings to determine the drill bit size required based on the burner type, orifice configuration, and whether the burner manifold is aluminum or steel casting.
